Artists Nick Flatt and Paul Virchow, aka "Punkone", recently completed this large mural in Berlin of a photo I took of Madzilla. The mural is located at Teufelsberg Station, a former NSA listening station used by the Allied Forces to spy on Germans during the Cold War. The mural is titled, "More More War" and represents how the forces of Western Imperialism are propelled by our conspicuous consumption and material obsessions. The photos that I'm sharing with you are courtesy of Nick Flatt himself. Maybe this could be a good excuse to take a trip to Germany.
Last year, Nick and I collaborated on this photo concept with my good friend Madzilla. He explained to me his vision and I ran with it. My goal was to give off a really "raw" feel. I'm glad that our photo series has been able to make his work come to life. Seeing one of the images from our shoot on a wall across the world was a pleasant surprise.
Special thanks to Nick and Paul for the photos. I'll have to print one of these out for my studio (Maybe the one where you guys are trying to stay warm lol) Shout out to Alex @ DAX Gallery in Costa Mesa, CA for producing the photoshoot!
